How we list and order schools
Last updated 4 November 2026
Where the facts come from
- CBSE SARAS (saras.cbse.gov.in): affiliation number, level, address, principal and contact published by CBSE.
- UDISE+ (Ministry of Education): school code, block, management and category.
- The school's own mandatory public disclosure: results, campus, facilities and fees, shown with the session they apply to.
Every school page lists its sources and the date we last checked them. When a fact is missing we leave it out; we never guess.
What "Featured partner" means
Featured partners are schools that pay SchoolBihar for a full profile and placement at the top of district, area and board pages. They always carry the "Featured partner · Sponsored" label. Being a partner does not change any fact on the page.
How schools are ordered
- Featured partners, in the order agreed with them.
- Then schools with the most verified details (phone, principal, website, PIN code, year founded).
- Then alphabetically.
We do not rank schools by quality, and we do not publish star ratings or reviews. "Best schools" in a page title means the schools parents in that place can choose from, with the facts to compare them.
Corrections
Schools and parents can request a correction. We check every change against an official source or the school's own disclosure.
